Welcome to Lextended Day

Lextended Day is a non-profit tuition supported after school program serving children from all six elementary schools in Lexington, Ma.   Lexington children attending private schools are also welcome to attend.   Administration of the program is delegated to a parent Board of Directors comprised of one parent from each of the elementary schools.   The program operates from school dismissal until 6:00pm.  With the exception of the Bridge school enrollees, children participate in the program at their home schools. Children from the Bridge School are transported to our location at the Hastings School via a chartered bus.

Lextended Day provides a safe, supportive after school environment designed to meet the varying needs of the participating children.  The Executive Director is an experienced educator, who is assisted by a professional staff committed to quality child care.  In order to provide each child with adequate attention and supervision, the student/teacher ratio does not exceed 1:10 for children in grades 1-5, and 1:8 for the kindergarten children.

After a nutritious snack, children are given ample outdoor time for free play or to participate in teacher directed activities.  The school facility and surrounding grounds provide the perfect setting for the variety of small group activities offered each day. Dance, drama, fine art, crafts, story telling and cooperative games are all part of after school fun at Lextended Day!
